About Our Art Boxes FAQ's
Q: What ages are your art boxes suitable for?
A: Our art boxes are designed for children ages 8-15, but younger children may also enjoy them with parental support.
Q:Do the boxes tie in with UK national curriculum?
A: Yes! Each box focuses on the most important foundation skills of art - the formal elements. Making them a perfect supplement to both work alongside school learning and home education. Our boxes include all the relevant quality art supplies needed for each topic per box as well as a detailed booklet that guides children through each task and filling their sketchbook. Inside our booklet are also short demo videos that show children first-hand 'how to' draw and setup their pages, with exemplar work also - these are all accessed easily through QR codes. Each of the six planned 'Formal Element Art Boxes' build on one another and revisit taught techniques and materials in prior boxes, to help children learn and build a greater in-depth knowledge as they progress.
The best part about these boxes are that they include 6-weeks worth of art activities! Designed to fill a whole terms worth of art learning for home educated children and can be done in their own time, even alongside school based learning. We recommend these boxes for primary school children who enjoy art but may not have had many opportunities for stand alone art lessons at primary school, and may wish to bridge the gap in foundation art knowledge and skills before moving up to secondary school education.
Q: Do I need lots of extra art supplies at home as well?
A: Nope! Each of our art box comes with everything your child needs to get started including quality art materials, their own red PY.UK A4 sketchbook + a booklet full of step-by-step activities with QR codes to access our teacher demo videos.
Q: Are the art materials in your art boxes safe for children?
A: Yes - we carefully select age appropriate art supplies. Some tools (like scissors or clay tools) may require adult supervision, and safety guidance is included in every box and teacher demo videos.
Q: Can I use the box with more than one child?
A: Each box is designed for only one child to use, but activities can often be shared if you have extra supplies at home. We provide our own PY.UK branded red sketchbooks in two of our six formal element boxes, to encourage children to work through the boxes and fill up their sketchbooks. Our sketchbooks are not provided in every Formal Element art box therefore please do make sure you read the information on each product page when purchasing.
T-Shirts & Tote Bags
Q: How should I wash the T-shirts?
A: As our t-shirts have heat transferred graphics on them we recommend washing our t-shirts inside-out at 30C, avoid tumble drying and iron on a low heat. This helps keep the artwork bright and fresh.
Q: Are your tote bags washable?
A: Yes - we recommend a cool wash and air-drying to keep the print looking its best. Make sure you wash it inside out, to keep the artwork protected, and avoid using high temperatures while ironing and do not tumble dry.
Shipping & Delivery FAQ's
Q: How long will my box take to arrive?
A: Standard delivery takes 3-5 working days from dispatch. You'll get an email confirmation when it's on the way.
Q: Do you deliver outside the UK?
A: Not yet - but we're working on it! Sign up to our newsletter to be notified when international shipping launches.
Q: Do you ship to schools or alternative education providers?
A: Yes, we can ship directly to schools, learning groups or clubs. Please ensure the delivery address is correct and that someone is available to receive the parcel.
Q: What happens if I'm not at home when the delivery is attempted?
A: Most couriers will leave a card or attempt redelivery. Please follow the instructions provided in your dispatch confirmation email.
Q: My parcel hasn't arrived, what should I do?
A: If it has been more than 10 working days since dispatch, please email us at projectyourselfuk@gmail.com with your order number and we will help track it down.
Q: Can I send a box as a gift?
A: Absolutely! Just respond on your chosen product page letting us know which products you wish to be a gift and you can even add a personalised gift message - we'll make sure the box goes straight to the lucky recipient!
Refunds & Returns FAQ's
Q: I changed my mind - can i send my box back?
A: Yes, as long as it is unopened and returned within 14 days. We'll issue a refund once we receive the product back. As stated on our 'Refunds & Returns Policy' page, unless a return is due to a faulty or incorrect items being sent out, the postage costs are the responsibility of the customer to pay for when returning it back to us.
Q: What if my box arrives damaged?
A: Please send us photos of your damaged box or product to projectyourselfuk@gmail.com within 7 days of delivery, and we'll arrange a replacement or refund - we will also provide postage.
Q: Do I have to pay for return postage?
A: If you're returning because you've changed your mind, yes. But if your item is faulty, damaged or incorrect - we will cover the cost.
Q: Can I exchange my item instead of a refund?
A: If you are exchanging an item for the same item and value that has a different design/theme then yes, we can complete an exchange for you - as soon as you have sent back the product you have received unopened and in the same condition when received. Once checked over, we will then post your chosen exchanged product to you. At the moment, we are not offering exchanges for products in different product lines. Please note, due to an exchange being a change of mind, it will be the responsibility of the customer to pay for postage of the first item back to us.
Q: How long will it take to get my money back?
A: Once we receive your return, refunds are processed within 7 working days to your original payment method.
Q: What about T-shirts & apparel?
A: As our t-shirts are made to order, we do not accept requests for refunds if you change your mind. However, if the product is faulty or printed incorrectly, we'll happily replace it for you. Alternatively, if you would like an exchange on either a t-shirt or tote bag due to needing a different size or preferring a different design, as a good will gesture we will be happy to exchange it for you but the customer will be responsible for posting the original t-shirt/tote bag back to us in it's original state with all branded labels still attached. We reserve the right to check our products over before deciding to issue a refund or exchange. If the t-shirt or tote shows signs or wear - more than just trying on the garment - we reserve the right to decline an exchange. This applies to any products that we feel may have been purposefully broken or vandalised.
